What are we talking about?
Scott: I wanted to fill the swimming pool.
Sorry, you were out tonight.
Helen: Swimming pool? What swimming pool?
What are we going to talk about then?
Scott: Are we at any special number of blog?
No.
Helen: Helen’s birthday blog.
Scott: Or Harv’s.
What will we talk about, then?
Helen: Samantha’s birthday party.
Might not be that exciting…
Helen: It is exciting. Have you ever been to a party? No.
What do you want to talk about, Scott?
Scott: How about we talk about birds?
Helen: Birds are boring.
Scott: Not as boring as talking about a party.
Helen: Parties are great.
Scott: Preview of a party.
Right – birds…
Scott: Yeah, that was what I said.
What do you want to tell me?
Scott: Well… Can you ask me a question other than that?
What is a bird?
Scott: I could just say a winged feathered animal which lays shelled eggs on land and is a vertebrate.
Helen: And that means it doesn’t have any bones.
Scott: Yes, it does.
What’s your favourite kind of bird?
Scott: There’s a big selection of birds.
Helen: I know my favourite.
Scott: What?
Helen: Peacock.
Scott: Maybe you’re right…
Helen: They’re the best – they’ve got coloured feathers.
Scott: Just because they’ve got coloured feathers and can’t fly doesn’t mean they’re the best.
Helen: Birds that can live on the moon – they’re the best.
